Today we're getting transparent about something we haven’t yet talked about on the pod…
Credit cards.
Yep, we're pulling out our actual wallets and showing you exactly which cards we've been carrying around.
We're not credit card optimization wizards who spend hours tracking points and strategically redeeming them.
We're just regular people trying to get a few perks without making our money lives (too) complicated.
No sponsorships, no affiliate links, just real talk about what's actually worth it and what's... well, not so much.
This week’s episode covers:
💳 The exact cards in our wallets right now, including business and personal cards
💳 Our thoughts on credit card annual fees and when we think they’re worth it
💳 How our credit card philosophies have changed over time
💳 Our regrets and mistakes when it comes to using credit cards
💳 The card Cassidy uses to get regular flight upgrades (and her experience flying first class!) 🥂
We also share our favorite cards, redemption strategies, and how we've both evolved from our early twenties "one card forever" and “no annual fee” mindsets.
To be clear, we’re not credit card experts. But we are willing to dive into our experiences and share what we’ve learned along the way.
Spoiler: We believe there's no "perfect" approach to credit cards — and we even share the flaws in our own systems.
🎬 Our take? You don't need 17 credit cards or a point-tracking spreadsheet to benefit from amazing perks and rewards.
Also, if you’ve been overlooking credit cards because of some Dave Ramsey-induced fear, you may want to reconsider that mindset.
💌 We'd love to hear from you! What's your approach to credit cards? Are you team "keep it simple" or do you have a system we could learn from? Hit reply and let us know!
Until next week,
Emily + Cassidy
P.S. Credit cards gotten you into trouble in the past? No shame here. Maybe our Debt 101 episode or Cassidy’s story about her own debt journey can help.
